Proposal:
HOPE ETERNAL
IN NEW
PRAYERS!

When I found my identity in the Old Testament, I was named by my first name in Daniel, and as Jeshurun in two other books. I'd like to bring to your attention, Isaiah 11, which says, "...a branch shall grow out of his roots..." Let me now take the time to tell you what I've formulated for a prayerbook, and allow you to consider if this is that "branch."

2

The first important step I've taken is to remove the mention of rebuilding the "Temple" in Jerusalem. If the zealots want to continue to speak figuratively that's their problem. We need to separate ourselves from them in this manner. I obviously believe the Muslim neighbors will be happier with this innovation as well.

The second change to note here, is the removal of the phrases about superiority, and those that still group nations as commoners, from the times of idol worship.

Our place in the world is shown better in prayer with this re-editing, unlike the present situation.

3

Also, I proceeded to contrast the weekdays from Shabbats, in a unique manner. If my goal is achieved, only Abraham, of our three fore-fathers will be mentioned daily. The reasoning can be rather long, but put simply, Abraham was worldly and universal. The other two connoted complexities suited for serious students of Judaism.

In the spirit of fairness, I think I should now point out, these changes will break musical liturgies, and I have no replacement. It's my belief the music which is still compatible will suffice, or that new music will be created.

4

I've reworked the siddur, and with a few exceptions, the mentions "Israel" have been taken out. As an Israeli, I'm acutely aware of my identity. My persona. I just don't need to repeat, or hear the word that much. As we're gathered together with our family, friends, and neighbors, our souls say Israel for us. Even alone we feel this presence. On the high holidays, the declarations of the nation's name remain mostly unchanged.

From any standpoint, the changes I've made read flawlessly, and the results of an innovative composition are immediately felt. Most levels of devotion will be satisfied with the results, including Conservative, Orthodox, and Reform.

5

Minor changes I've also made also seem noteworthy at this point. Mentions of King David aren't used during the week, to tweak a modern tone into tradition. This also goes for over-descriptive passages and conjectures like "...strips the forest bare."

In all truthfulness, you'll be fully immersed in this new way of praying. I believe you'll be engrossed more than the next person still using the old compositions.

I now need investment to produce, and publicize what I hope you'll feel is an invaluable evolution.

6

I feel the accomplished product will quickly prove itself. However, I realize you will want to consider an investment with more information. Please contact me soon to arrange a meeting if you feel positively about my mission.
